How much does a Thermal Imaging Survey cost?

How much does a Thermal Imaging Survey cost?

This is one of the most common questions clients ask, with a very easy answer: it depends on various factors!

How much a thermal imaging survey costs depends on the following:

          1. The type and size of building
          2. The amount of buildings
          3. The preparation required
          4. Potential access issues that may slow down the survey
          5. The projected survey time and equipment required
          6. The location and travel costs/time
          7. The deliverable: in other words, what is type of reportage is required.

Once the above items have been considered, we can forward an accurate fee proposal for the works.

Are we the cheapest Thermal Imaging Company in London?

Are we the cheapest thermal imaging company in London? Yes, very often we are!  We have won many large and small projects purely on price; however, our goal is not just to offer the cheapest price, but to also offer a great overall service. Also, because we use Level 2 & 3 thermographers – along with latest thermal imaging equipment – we are able to undertake all types of thermal surveys and reportage to the highest standards of a UKAS accredited laboratory.

It’s our continual aim to do the job once, do it properly, at a competitive price. By using this mind-set we have managed to secure a high percentage of repeat customers. On the rare occasion we lose business on price it’s usually to inexperienced people using low end equipment, which has resulted in inaccurate reportage. This has resulted clients getting in touch with us to redo the survey, which costs a lot more in the long run! It’s always best to ask thermal imaging companies if they are trained to Level 2, and if their infrared cameras have a minimum resolution of 640 x 480.

We use the latest high resolution thermal imaging cameras to undertake our Thermographic Surveys throughout London and the Southeast.  Thermal imaging is one the quickest and easiest ways to undertake fault diagnosis on your buildings,  as thermography can quickly and accurately identify  building faults and a easy to follow report, so the defects can be quickly indented and rectified by the contractors.

The benefits of thermographic inspections are well documented and when it’s used in conjunction with air tightness testing it can be a very power combination – especially when its undertaken on  commercial buildings.

Also, it’s worth noting that BREEAM projects are becoming more common place throughout the UK and this will only increase as new tighter environmental restrictions are placed on all new developments in the UK. BREEAM provides extra points to projects that have a BREEAM Thermal survey undertaken. As not many clients are aware of BREEAM thermal surveys, we have included more information in our ‘What is a BREEAM thermal Imaging Survey’ article.
