We at APT Sound Testing recognise that noise transmission in buildings is a complex subject and it can be difficult to provide definitive guidance on resolving specific problems that have occurred in individual buildings.
If your building fails the sound test we can look at the ‘as built’ specification along to try to identify and resolve any problems to finalise a remedial solution to pass part E of building regulations.
If the failure is attributed to the construction of the separating and/or associated flanking elements, other rooms that have not been tested may also fail to meet the sound test performance levels. Additional tests may be needed, over and above the number recommended; however APT can advise on any extra tests that may be required.
